GO! Contemporary Dance Works will celebrate its 21stanniversary with Perpetual Motion, an outdoor performance at the TN Amphitheatre at World’s Fair Park on Friday, September 27, 2024 at 8PM.

Perpetual Motion brings together inter-disciplinary choreographic works by some of the most experimental dance-makers in Knoxville and will premier a new work by award winning New York choreographer Tracie Stanfield.  Stanfield is a faculty member at Broadway Dance Center and Steps on Broadway. Also presenting new work for GO! is Fredrick Davis, an accomplished former principal dancer with Dance Theatre of Harlem.

With a roster of 50 pre-professional and professional dancers, GO! celebrates a 21 year journey of art, family and connection with this performance.  Mixing new with the old, GO! brings back to the stage favorites such as Unshaken by Denise Njuguna, Trifecta by Darby O’Connor-Lanigan and Revivification by Laura Shields.  “We are still dreaming big and growing,” McKee says.  “As artistic director, my primary focus is to keep us moving forward in Perpetual Motion and not become stagnant!  Webring in new artists and we create new work while keeping true to our history.”

Perpetual Motion will include a pre-show event with live music by Mal Nombre and free refreshments beginning at 7PM for ticketholders.  Tickets are $20 and can be purchased at gocontemporarydance.com or at STUDIO ARTS for dancers, 865-539-2475.Tickets can be picked up at STUDIO ARTS or will call at the TN Amphitheatre.  All seating is general admission.  Perpetual Motion is produced in part by corporate sponsors Garza Law Firm, Matt Harper of Eagle Strategies, Integrative Physical Therapy & Wellness, ORNL Federal Credit Union and STUDIO ARTS for Dancers.  Perpetual Motion is proud to be a Penny4Arts performance
